Chai Spice Mix

You can put 1 – 2 teaspoons of this mix in a strainer and use in place of a tea bag. The cup of chai is quicker to make but just as soothing as making it on the stove the traditional way!

Equipment

  • 300ml Glass Jar

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ Cup Loose Leaf Black Tea
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 7 Green Cardamom Pods
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 - 2 tsp Ginger powder

Instructions
 

  • Using a mortar and pestle separately crush the cardamom, cloves, star anise, fennel seeds and cinnamon until each ingredient is a mixture of pieces and powder.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together and store in an airtight jar or container.
